Becky and Daren were married in an intimate ceremony at Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde this month.  When you look at the pictures the lighthouse may seem familar – more familiar than other lighthouses.  Why is that you ask?  Well that is because this lighthouse was the one in Forest Gump!  I love when cool things like that pop up in weddings!

When I arrived everyone was busy getting ready!

Becky selected some gorgeous flowers for her bouquet.

Emotions were running high when Becky came down the aisle with her dad!

The ceremony was filled with laughter and tears – and lots of both – it was very sweet and emotional for everyone there.

We had people trapped in the top of the the lighthouse so we could spend some time on the walkway – love it!

The bling!

When they kiss their heads make the perfect shape of a heart!  Do you see it!! I can’t help but think that when I see this image:)

“Picture now!”  LOL  That is what Daren said when Becky found this rock shaped like a heart!  It cracked us all up!

So sweet!

Heather and Mike were also married the weekend of Hurricane Bill!  You wouldn’t know it by this first picture but stormy weather was ahead and thwarted plans for a wedding on the bunker!  No matter – Heather and Mike are the most laid back easy going couple I have met and were just as happy with the gardens outside.  After all it wasn’t where they got married that mattered as much as that they were getting MARRIED!

I met Heather and Mike as they were putting the finishing touches to their wedding plans.  I felt a connection to them right off and was thrilled that they asked me right then and there to be their photographer!  Mike is in the military and is being deployed in January.  I was honored to be able to photograph their wedding day and to get to know them a little bit before he ships off.

One of the most touching parts of the evening was the best man’s speech.  I unfortunatley can’t quote it word for word but he spoke of how Heather and Mike’s love is the real thing and that they are truly a team.  When one of them stumbled the other one is there to pick them up and carry the load.  It was one of the sweetest best man speeches I have ever heard and it has stuck with me since then – because isn’t that what everyone wants – someone to share the load with?

OK before I get super emotional right here on my keyboard lets get to the pictures!

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous that is all I can say about her dress!

Love the bouquet!

For the first time the bride was ready before the groom!  We kept our eye on the outside while we waited for him to be ready….

FMBlog04

Is this my favorite shot of the day?  It might be!  Just as they hit the bottom of the stairs and rounded the corner to the ceremony location!  You can see the twinkle in Heather’s eye as she seems Mike for the first time!

The weather held off all the way through the ceremony.  It was just a sprinkling of rain – and bubbles - during the recessional!

FMBlog06

Once we were all safely back inside the skies opened up – so the party stayed indoors for the rest of the night:)

Katelyn and Jason were married on Saturday August 22nd – the day of Hurricane Bill.  This is important because Katelyn and I are a little bit alike.

Three days before the wedding I received a Facebook message asking if I had checked the tide schedule because with the storms the waves might be big.  Had I checked the tide schedule!  I had checked it long before the threat of the hurricane came up so I was prepared for anything that might keep us from pictures at the beach.  Katelyn and Jason are beach people – you may remember their engagement session at the beach!

The day before the wedding Katelyn gave me a call to discuss last minute details and the weather.  I told her not to worry because I had at least 4 apps on my iPhone that kept me up to date on the hurricane situation:)  Katelyn and I obsessed about the same things when it came to her wedding and it makes me laugh sitting here today posting their images because their day was gorgeous and perfect and aside from a little bit of good luck rain before the ceremony the weather didn’t bother them (or me!) one bit!

Katelyn had grown her hair out for the wedding, so these beautiful curls and up-do could be created.  But if I am not mistaken she will be getting a chic new do not long after she gets home:)

Her bridal party and her mom joined her at the salon for hair and makeup.

I have a thing for bouquets – this one did not disappoint!

See – it was just a tiny bit rainy right before the ceremony.

A few weeks ago I did a Picture Party Day for a client of mine.  How to explain a Picture Party??? Well think of it like a Tupperware Party but for Pictures!  The host invites several of her friends (and their kids over) for a series of mini-sessions.  You get to visit with your friends while I make some great pictures of the kids!   For this Picture Party the weather was perfect and the kids were adorable!  They had great personalities…. I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

If you and your friends are interested in a Picture Party day for the upcoming Christmas family session season email me and I can send more details!   Picture Parties include a mini-fee (for the mini-session:)) and discounts on products!

Enjoy!

It never ceases to amaze me how high kids can jump when we do this!
