This weeks challenge: Green

February 25, 2009

This weeks photography challenge was to shoot anything green. I know, last week was Red, but the girls were pushing me for a topic and I have been so busy that I just blurted it out! For the next week I am giving the girls because the FOOD photography is one of the hardest photography subjects out there!! That’s right – its restaurant week here in Portland, ME and our next task is to shoot some of our favorite foods!

For now, here is my green:

Matty gave me a nice new Kate Spade wallet for V-day!

This is our shovel – the bain of my existence!

We went out for breakfast with Matt’s friends on Sunday before church.. this is the menu!

These are not green.. but they are SAD! Matt bought new chairs for the yard this weekend, to go around the outdoor fireplace, and now they are just sitting in snow – the HOLD tag is what I think Mother Nature is saying about spring – HOLD ON!

And here is Matt helping shovel us out on Monday morning.  Putting this antique look to it is the only way I can stomach pictures of snow!

Valentine’s Day – Red

February 19, 2009

Matt and I went to New York City for Valentine’s Day! It was a wonderful getaway considering the weather was at least 15 degrees warmer! Granted you still needed a winter coat BUT it was almost 45 most days!
I also had a photography assignment for the weekend. My friends Erin and Erica and I are each week picking a different topic and photographing it to post on our blogs. I have been remiss in recent weeks but this week I picked RED – how hard could it be to photograph red on valentines day weekend – well it wasn’t hard but there was SO MUCH PINK everywhere that some of that snuck in as well!

I love scooters and if I had my way I would like in a town where I could take a scooter everywhere.

Matt and I went to Serendipity 3 where they have what is called a Frozen Hot Chocolate – it was amazing but honestly I am not a chocolate person…

I love PEEPS and love that they make them for every season… there were some in a candy store we stopped in.

And last but not least!! My dog died earlier this year and Matt knows I am lonely when I am working at my desk… so he got me these little guys to keep me company (more pink then red but super cute!)

New Year New Brand!

February 3, 2009

It is rare that you can work in an industry where you are allowed to change your brand every year or so – where you are even encouraged to do so!  Photography is that industry – updating your brand shows your clients how your working is growing and how your image is keeping up!

This fall I took on that project of re-branding myself.  I finally went with red because honestly I think it matches my personality the most and I just love it every time I look at it.  Technically I think orange is my favorite color but then you run the risk of looking like Home Depot!

To go along with my re-brand I updated all of the materials I send out to my clients and potential clients who are looking for some awesome photography!  The other day my new wedding materials arrived from the printers and I could not be happier with them!  If you have a wedding coming up and you haven’t booked me yet contact me and I can send out this super cute package with all of my information in it!  It even comes mailed in a box – I love the United States Postal Service!

I will also be updating my portrait package info and my CD cases – more to come and its all good!  For now some product shots!

Many Many thanks to Erica – the designer whose watchful eye guided me through this process!  I love you Erica!
