Holiday Season 2008

October 28, 2008

Holiday Season is upon us, believe it or not, and this year I am offering Custom Christmas Cards!  These cards are available for any of my client who had a session with me this year.  I also have a LIMITED number of mini-sessions that you can package with your cards if you are a new client – but email me quick because available dates are filling up!

This year I have four unique card designs and I will be featuring them on the blog this week!  The Moores are my first card family!  After last years card digression (which we won’t speak of but lets just say Erin went ahead without me:) we are really redeeming ourselves this year!  The black and white images were a perfect fit for this 5×5 card and I am SURE the people who are receiving Erin’s card will agree they rock!

This card is a 5×5 square card that allows for three images on the front, one image on the back of the card and custom greetings inside! If you love this look but want to change the colors or the text we can do that!  A session sheet outlining the details of the cards and mini-sessions can be found here - email me if you have any questions and we can find some time to chat!

Happy Holidays!

Rachael and Ross: Engagement

October 17, 2008

Rockport-Rockland??? Aren’t they close to each other?  I thought so until Matt and I took a trip up there this weekend to shoot Rachael and Ross’s engagement session.  Matt informed me that they were two different places and kind of not next to each other!  Good thing I have him and Rachael’s masterful directions!

Rockport was a great location for engagement pictures and with fall in full swing the scenery was wonderful!  Rachael and Ross are getting married next June at Ducktrap Retreat in a ceremony that promises to be elegant and lovely and fun - a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple!

The fall foliage is calling to me in sepia tones

We spent time in wooded paths and down by the harbor.  The light in the fall just starts to have that cool blue look to it.. I love it!

This might be my favorite of the day!  I am not sure if its the seal bench they are sitting on or how cute and in love they look!

There was a very cool train that made a great backdrop!  We weren’t the only ones to think so, there was a woman there waiting to take a picture for her grandson!

We swapped outfits and headed into town!

We grabbed a quick picture in front of this photography studio… I loved the irony! (Small side note… i could not think of the word irony as we were approaching the building, so I was stumbling over my words making it up as I went along.. fortunately Rachael thought of the word for me or it would have bothered me all night!  Thank you Rachael!)

One of the best parts of the day!  We went to the coffee shop that Rachael and Ross had their first date!  I love when we can incorporate personal parts of the couple into the session!  This is the very couch they sat on for their first date – and there they are ordering in the background!  I wonder if we can borrow the couch for the wedding day??? :)

Do not be distracted by the light from the case!  Look at the gorgeous couple smiling at you!

Another favorite of the day!  I LOVE THIS ONE!

What a great way to end this post!  Oh wait!  Its not over – click here for their slideshow!

Thank you Rachael and Ross!  I had a great time and I can’t wait til June!

Joe and Andrea: A Wedding

October 8, 2008

Joe and Andrea were married on September 27th at the Wentworth Country Club.  We had a bit of a grey day but that didn’t matter because Joe and Andrea were just to happy to be getting married!  Joe is a graphic designer and I met him while we were working together.  I was so thrilled that they picked me to photograph their wedding.

We started off the day in the salon with hair and makup!

Andrea picked pink and orange for her wedding day colors and the details just popped!!

Joe and Andrea had alot of wonderful friends at their wedding and 14 of them in their wedding party!

Andrea’s gown was absolutley gorgeous!  I always ask brides to describe to me what their dress looks like when we meet before the wedding and my imagination always does a poor job of replicating it in my head.. this dress was no exception!

Andrea and her dad make a grand entrance:

The ceremony!

First Kiss!

Husband and Wife!

We spent some time on the back porch rocking the portraits – apparently this is one of their signature looks :)

and this is one of mine!

This is a picture that they requested, they are looking out over the water.  I love when clients request particular shots, working together makes the pictures rock!

They made a big entrance into the reception….

and then went right to their first dance….

later in the evening we took some family portraits…. these were particularly good :)

Cute cake cutting moment…. you seriously never know how this is going to go!

Thank you Andrea and Joe for having me at your big day!  I hope you are enjoying married life!

Becky and Steve: Part 2

October 1, 2008

Last week I did an engagement session for Becky and Steve – a part 2 to the first round we did in July.   This time we kicked around Portland.  New location, new time of year, new lighting – it gave this session a whole different feel!  This time I will let the slideshow do the talking – enjoy!
