Ladies and gentlemen may I Introduce the Gantt Family! They were the winners of my free session give away in June and I was so excited to shoot this session! We spent some time in Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH – a super popular place to take pictures. When we arrived there were 3 different wedding couples there with photographers for pictures! We were able to carve out some space of our own and shoot away….
And this is my favorite of the day!

I HAVE … a present for my sister’s birthday – thankfully because I usually procrastinate!
I KEEP … everything – I love to reduce, reuse, and recycle so I can find a second use for anything!
I WISH I COULD … be a better advocate for the environment
I HATE … mean people
I FEAR … doing things incorrectly
I HEAR … Abba’s Souper Trouper playing in my earbuds
I DON’T THINK … that I am going to get enough people for my fantasy football league
I REGRET … when I don’t go with my instincts the first time
I LOVE … my nieces and my boyfriend and my cameras and the internet
I AM NOT … a good poker face
I DANCE … not all that much
I SING … all the time, and I like to “bring it home” in church or so my sister says
I NEVER … sleep in flannel sheets
I RARELY … sleep as long as I want to
I CRY WHEN I WATCH … Forest Gump, when Jenny dies and then it cuts to the shot of her in the grave!
I AM NOT ALWAYS … sure I am doing the right thing
I HATE THAT … I am not always sure I am doing the right thing
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … which movie to see this weekend, but I am seeing a movie this weekend!
I NEED … to spend the weekend relaxing and getting some down time
I SHOULD … learn to listen to the universe speaking to me and trust it more

On Tuesday I went down to Boston to attend the Free To Succeed tour with David Jay and Jasmine Star and they did not disappoint!
I think is important for wedding photographers to not only keep improving their photography skills but also to keep improving their business skills and that is what this seminar was about. If I can keep my business running efficiently and stay up to date on the running of a photography business then I am going to be able to turn around better products and services for my brides and ensure that what they are looking for in wedding photography turns out in the final product!

and not just because they are beautiful children, but because I ask them to make me famous by going around town saying my name and their mother tells me that they do it! Before you know it I will be the biggest thing in Southern Maine all thanks to these girls.
Of course the fact they are gorgeous doesn’t hurt!
They are picture perfect!!
We also spent some time down at the beach, and of course I have to post some of them with an antique look…
It was nice to have the parents get involved!!

Tonight the lesson is be yourself. Not just because I am listening to Dane Sanders book on photography and being yourself is one of his mantras – but also because I am editing the headshot session I did for Libby last week. One of the reasons these photos came out so great is because Libby has the same philosophy I do – if you act like yourself and look like yourself in pictures then it makes it more real for people who see you on your website. It gives them a connection to you, now they know what you look like and a bit of your personality when they are talking to you over the phone!
I shot this session for Libby because she will be launching a brand new website soon! I will update the post when she goes live so you can see how it comes together. For now, here are three of my favorites from the day:
